Prof. Dr. Hübl presents results of a study aimed at understanding the capabilities of the Siemens FLC method for the determination of kappa free light chains (FLC) in cerebrospinal fluid as a possible diagnostic marker for multiple sclerosis. Using samples from 303 patients with various neurological diseases, FLC was measured in both serum and CSF using the Siemens FLC method as well as a competitor's FLC method on a Siemens BN ProSpec® System. Note: Please consider N Latex FLC Kappa and N Latex FLC Lambda in vitro diagnostic reagents for the quantitative determination of free light chains (FLC), type kappa or lambda respectively, in human serum, heparinized plasma, EDTA plasma, and urine.
N Latex FLC Kappa and N Latex FLC Lambda are not intended for quantitative determination of free light chains in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).Data and applications using CSF are not for use in diagnostic procedures.
