In 1991, the first stereotactic breast biopsy systems from Siemens were introduced.
They enabled more accurate minimally invasive biopsy procedures.
The next generation was introduced in 1994: Mammomat 1000 and Mammomat 3000.
The new systems offered, for example intelligent compression for increased patient comfort, automatic exposure control, and a dual target anode tube.
The systems also enabled digital biopsy, localization procedures, and spot imaging …
… and had a dedicated workstation.
