A digital ecosystem thrives if as many service providers as possible contribute to it. Therefore the Siemens Healthineers Digital Ecosystem comes with open APIs (Application Programming Interface) to enable application developers and solution providers to create, market and offer services efficiently which are seamlessly integrated into a shared digital healthcare platform.
In terms of technology the Siemens Healthineers Digital Ecosystem is based on the cloud-based network teamplay, that has been awarded for its handling of data privacy and which is already used at hundreds of customer sites. It brings together a number of additional platforms such as LifeNet or the Point of Care (POC) Informatics solution from Siemens Healthineers. In a secure cloud solution from Microsoft it currently contains several million data records, providing for example an insight into the level of utilization of imaging devices in a clinic or the associated radiation doses.
Opening this up to companies such as application, service and solution providers, device manufacturers, platform developers or data providers results in a shared digital platform on which Siemens Healthineers and its partners can offer applications and services for healthcare providers, for example to support decision-making or increase productivity.
The platform is planned to be commercially available in the fall of 2017.

TMC is the leading European provider of teleradiology- and telepathology services with a substantial team of radiologists, accredited and independently audited with rigorous quality control. The service gives the ability to collaborate on-demand with highly experienced sub-specialized radiologists to get an expert opinion on the case.
Using SyMRI®, clinicians can capture multiple image contrasts in a single scan, providing an efficient workflow and the possibility of examining more patients per day. With synthetic MRI, the contrast can be adjusted after the scan, creating additional images without re-calling the patient. Automatic segmentation of brain tissue provides objective decision support based on quantitative data.
REMyDI™, now a part of SyMRI, provides automatic measurement of myelin volume. Easy quantification of myelin allows clinicians to follow myelination in the developing brain and monitor myelin degeneration in patients with demyelinating and neurodegenerative disorders.
