New imaging equipment
In as little as 18 months after the Value Partnership was established, Siemens Healthineers had already provided 80 new items of imaging equipment to MFT – predominantly X-ray and ultrasound systems – with multiple large imaging installations in progress.
The partnership commits to managing critical imaging equipment with many being replaced multiple times over the fifteen-year period. The addition of North Manchester General Hospital will take the number of imaging assets managed by Siemens Healthineers to around 300.
Consulting services
As well as managing equipment, Siemens Healthineers is providing consultancy support, to help the Trust optimise efficiency and develop a roadmap for the future. The team at MFT has already developed new ways of working – addressing day-to-day processes such as patient flow, vetting, booking and scheduling. Projects to analyse ultrasound imaging pathways and booking processes for CT services are underway.
Through initiatives such as these, Siemens Healthineers and MFT are aiming to provide an efficient and cohesive imaging service, promoting excellence in patient care across Manchester.
Regional collaboration
Siemens Healthineers has also established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MFT and The University of Manchester. The MoU describes priority areas for innovation in Greater Manchester – including the earlier detection and intervention of cancers and other health conditions which disproportionately impact the region’s population.

Developments such as the extension of our Value Partnership to include North Manchester General Hospital and the establishment of The Memorandum of Understanding, are a product of shared understanding and mutual commitment to delivering improved patient outcomes.”
